'Broken'

Broken is part of my portfolio series, the set of pictures is a visual record of the impact that IBS can and does have on people’s minds, in this case mine.

I fully understand that this is not a sexy subject but it is something that affects as many as 1 in 5 people in the UK. IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) is the most common disease diagnosed by gastroenterologists. In the UK 13 percent of woman and 5 per cent of men suffer from this.

Photographically I am self-taught, bananacake is the first time I have shown my work, apart from on pbase where some of my galleries are in the most viewed section. I have lived and worked in other countries such as Indonesia, Holland and Thailand but I’m now back in the UK.
