When the Tsunami crisis alarmed our global on December 2004, I was called upon to carry a photographic reportage assignment to Indonesia to elaborate about the Tsunami refugees who had their unforgettable pains. Soon after three months, an earthquake struck again Indonesia and had left the people suffered tremendous of agonies of death and losses.
My portfolios generally began with my struggle at photography in the past 18 months. I spent nearly a year time to shut myself away from accepting any 'information' or I was rather reclusive. Everything changed since I moved to London on June 2006. Things were just less gloomy and they became more and more positive and optimistic.
Euro Pride, London 06 was the first ever biggest and perky outdoor activity I had had in my life. Those months of dark ages quickly changed and filled my heart with warmth. Therefore, the series of the Pride with the combination of black & white and colours were simply reflected my agonies of my 'loneliness and happiness' in the past.
And also, colours that shown in immense detail signified a great victory from gaining a worldwide gay recognition over the past decades throughout the world.
The second series of my portfolio was the continuation of the previous art creation. It was merely reflections to those days I experienced. It reminded me to look at several directions or angles when come to resolving certain difficulties. And after, I have to stay away from it as a bystander to get the whole idea of what is going on. Finally, a 'dramatic and geometrical' outcome will picture me a better decisions to make in future. It could be a single fold, double or even multiple. Each image just has its own meaning and interpretation in it no matter how it ends up to be.
Photography is my life. The deeper I go in to it, the more freedom I possess spiritually. Just like nirvana that I have longed for. My photographs are not just about landscapes, people, wildlife and etc but they are rather pieces of fine art with a blend of old technologies and new technologies.
